Garages have seen an incredible increase in size in the past 30 years. Today's lots are built to accommodate garages that rival the size of entire homes from the 50's and 60's. And as this has happened, people have begun to use their garages for more than just storing their vehicles. Laundry rooms, the workshop, the place to store an extra freezer, etc. have now dominated the primary function of the garage. And with this, the largest, yet least taken care of room in the house has become the dumping ground of all of life's stuff.

An unknown author once said "Only in America do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and leave useless junk in the garage". This couldn't be more true than today. In the 1980's, the fashion was to remodel the bathroom, the kitchen's in the 90's, and garages are the new item to remodel. When it also comes to home resale, people demand the basement to be finished. The same is coming true for the garage.

So what can we do? The possibilities are endless. Custom storage solutions are an obvious choice to take back the "landfill mentality" we have regarding storage and the garage. Epoxy floors are an excellent idea (and a great place to start), and we can do a variety of colors to match almost any decor. Potted lighting, tool organization, and even the roll out style polyvinyl (which are oil, battery acid and grease resistant, yet easy to clean) are ideas that will make your garage come to life again.
